Meet bestselling writer Kathleen Ernst, author of the award-winning Chloe Ellefson Historic Sites mysteries. This Wisconsin-based series is popular with adults and mature teens who enjoy traditional mysteries (i.e., without explicit sex, violence, or gore). Kathleen's lively, richly-illustrated program will take readers 'behind the scenes' to reveal the people, places, and the past that inspired her to write the now eight Chloe books (#9 comes out next year).
Kathleen will also talk about how her years at Old World Wisconsin influenced the character of museum curator (and reluctant sleuth) Chloe Ellefson, how her research into police work helped shape Chloe's love interest, officer Roelke McKenna, and how she researches and writes the Chloe mysteries. Afterwards Kathleen will answer questions, give away door prizes, and sign her books (copies of which will be available for purchase). This hour-long program is free and open to the public. Kathleen will also be at the library presenting her one hour American Girl Fans program for young readers at 4:00 p.m.
