The Dorf Haus, Bavarian –style supper club. Roxbury, near Sauk City, keeps Oktoberfest oompah-pah alive on Sunday, October 9, when the Dorf Kapelle 16-piece show band takes center stage. A Bavarian buffet including Kasseler Ripchen, Sauerbraten, Spatzle, Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad and more, will be served starting at noon with the performance from 1-3 p.m. The bar opens at 10:30 a.m.
Capturing the traditional ethnic style of a typical European village band, the Dorf Kapelle Show Band performs waltzes, marches and polkas using accordions, trombones, tubas, alphorns and more.
Rebecca Maier-Frey, a co-owner of the family-owned Dorf Haus, said the Dorf Kapelle, translated “village band” is an all-time annual favorite and tradition during Oktoberfest. “It’s like taking a whirlwind trip back to Europe for the afternoon,” she said.
The cost for the dinner and show is $40. Reservations are required by calling the Dorf Haus at (608) 643-3980. www.foodspot.com/dorfhaus
