Have fun learning how to create decorative papers using an age-old Japanese papercraft technique. Orizome combines “origami” paper folding and colored pigment dip-dyeing. In this class you’ll learn what kind of paper to use, how to fold it, then experiment in different ways of applying the color dyes. For this class we’ll be using food coloring and kozo paper. You’ll get to mix your own colors and create your own color combinations. We’ll experiment with creating a variety of patterns, which often have surprising results and not always where we intended to go. All papers will end up as one-of-a-kind!
