Witwen 4th of July Parade & Chicken BBQ
Black Hawk and Denzer United Methodist churches sponsor a Chicken BBQ dinner on the grounds. A huge parade, including Jean Powell's saxophone band performing on the Concerts at the Campground float, begins at 10:30 a.m. The parade starts at the intersection of County roads E and O, passes through the tiny town of Witwen, and finishes at the Campground. People arrive before 8:00 a.m. to find parking space along Co Hwy E. The Parade is followed by a Chicken BBQ at the campground.
