The 2022 Local Street Improvements are underway. The Village Board allocated just over $2 million for improvements to portions of 8th Street, 14th Street, 9th Street, Locust Lane and Lueders Road. The projects also included the recently completed chip sealing of 5 miles of streets in the Westwynde, Fieldstone, and Highland Subdivisions. More information can be found at www.prairiedusac.net.
The Wisconsin DOT, which is responsible maintenance of Hwy. 60/78 (a.k.a. Water Street), is currently working on the design/plans for pavement replacement, replacement of existing storm sewer, and updated curb ramps to meet ADA requirements for this roadway as it travels thru the Village of Prairie du Sac. The Wisconsin DOT is anticipating construction to take place in 2027. The Village has continuously expressed the need for this work to the Wisconsin DOT, Wisconsin governors, and our local state legislators. However, the Village has no control of this schedule as this project is handled by the Wisconsin DOT. The Village estimates its local share (municipal utilities, sidewalk, and parking lanes) of will be $2 million of the total $6.4 million project cost within the Village of Prairie du Sac.
