If stories are the vehicle for empathic intelligence, then dialogue is its engine. Generative dialogue ignites this engine and activates the innate courage and confidence we each have to respond in the face of uncertainty and helps us build bridges across lines of difference.

The Dialogue Lab is our work in the art and practice of dialogic leadership, and dialogue-based systems and social change through a process of reflection, exploration and regeneration. And it all happens through a generative process of communication that breaks down barriers and isolated thinking. Only then, as a current or future leader, can you start to develop shared meaning and understanding with those you are called to influence, laying the groundwork for authentic relationships, and the development of redemptive solutions. This is the essence of generative dialogue.

As relational beings, we learn best in community; that is, in dialogue with one another. Yet, at different points in our lives, we all find ourselves having to engage with people over divisive, and even fear-inducing topics. Whether it is with people we know or complete strangers, holding a dialogue with people who think differently than us can be challenging. But it is also an opportunity to share our most authentic selves with another person
