Dorf Kapelle Show Band Performs at Dorf Haus Oct. 8
The Dorf Kapelle Show Band, with the slogan, “Join in the Fun, Go Dorfin’” will perform ethnic style music of a typical European Village at the Dorf Haus, Bavarian- style supper club in Roxbury, near Sauk City, Sunday, Oct. 8. The Dorf Kapelle and Dorf Haus have been keeping the Oktoberfest tradition alive with a Sunday Bavarian-style buffet and performance for the last 24 years, according to Rebecca Maier-Frey, second generation co-owner of the Dorf Haus.
The Dorf Kapelle 16-piece band, consisting of performers from around Wisconsin, play music from Germany and Austria, along with arrangements Dorf Kapelle members have written, including waltzes, marches and polkas featuring accordions, trombones, tubas, alphorns and more.
The Germany-inspired event starts with a buffet which includes Kasseler Rippchen, Sauerbraten, Spatzle, Red Cabbage, German Potato Salad and more. The Dorf Haus recently earned a first place Star Award in Madison Newspapers annual reader poll for best buffet.
Dinner will be served starting at noon with the performance on the raised stage from 1-3 p.m. The bar opens at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $42. Reservations are required by calling the Dorf Haus at (608) 643-3980. www.foodspot.com/dorfhaus
