To clarify, the whisker fish trophy contest requires a donation to be made to enter. You can donate cash, non perishable items, or anything listed in the list below. We will accept either a catfish or bullhead for this category. The sh!t fish category will reward a fabulous trophy for the largest rough fish registered. For example this would be carp, sucker, or white/yellow bass. The 1st LEGAL bass and pike registered will be given $50 in Chamber Bucks.Lots of people have been asking about size limits so here are a few rules to follow when fishing! If you are fishing Crystal: Bass 14'' and Northern 26''If you're fishing on Fish/Mudd: Bass 18" and Northern 26"There are no size limits for catfish or rough fish.Fish do not need to be kept alive to register, ALTHOUGH we strongly encourage anglers to bring coolers for transporting live fish to weigh in, otherwise we are able to respectfully utilize any unwanted fish.PARKING:Yes, parking is limited with the snow right now, but it is getting better and we hope over the next couple of days it continues to improve, but of course that will be weather dependent. We will update as things change and a final update will be posted late Friday night or very early Saturday morning. We are going to try and do the same as last year. You can park within the park as long as we stick to one side of the road and there is enough room for people to get past you. You can park up on Schoepp Road, but stick to one side of the road. Note, the road was raised a bit this past summer so the ditches are a little steeper than last year, so please use caution. There is a flat area up above the porta potty by the “Old Style” sign. We suggest only trucks park up in this area and please watch around you and park so that you are not blocking anyone else in or blocking anyone from getting out. You can always drop your party and equipment off down below and then one person go up and park. Like last year we will do our best to have people out running around helping shuttle. You can message us here on Facebook or text Tammy at 608-850-3899 if you need help. The funds raised will be donated to 3 organizations that are great resources for our community; 6:8, The Good Neighbor Clinic and Eric & CO. Seize EPILEPSY (new this year)! We wouldn't be able to do this if it wasn't for your participation, these 3 organizations are very appreciative of the funds we donate! With your support we can help make a difference!A little about these organizations…..*6:8 has a strong commitment to working with people who are living in poverty. 6:8 believes if we care enough to walk alongside someone in need and want to invest in their life rather than just say “Here’s a pile of food that will get you by for the next week – come back again,” then lives will be transformed. We say, “You know what, I want you not to be hungry, but I also want you to know that you can make a difference in your life.*The Good Neighbor Clinic is a free clinic. The clinic was started in 1999 by Dr. Haakon Carlson. Our mission is to improve the health and lives of people who face financial, cultural or language barriers that keep them from accessing quality healthcare.*Eric & CO. Seize EPILEPSY is a brand new nonprofit organization! They are dedicated to helping those living with epilepsy by providing resources to individuals and their families. Our very own committee members, Mike and Val Ash recently found out their son, Eric, has epilepsy which prompted them to start this non-profit. You can find them on Facebook.Whisker Fish entry donation ideas for 6:8, we welcome all non-perishable food donations, of course cash is always welcome too!General 55 gallon Recycle bags Liquid Laundry Detergent Dishwasher Soap pods All-purpose cleaner for mopping floors (i.e. Pine Sol)Kitchen Gallon Ziplock Freezer bags Canned tomatoes Canned chopped clams Paper towels White distilled vinegar AmmoniaChildcare Room Legos Middle School and High School Christian novels (see Amazon wishlist).6:8's Office Forever Stamps Post Card Stamps 3M Scotch Tape Scrap Printer Paper (One Side blank)6:8 Garden Sunscreen Blueberry Bushes***We will thank everyone in detail later, but we want to shout out a preliminary thank you to all who have registered already and all who have donated so generously (be it cash donations or raffle items or donations of your time)!
